Students are required by ScS's to complete 2 Iready reading assignments per week. They are due on each Friday. They will not be accepted after that unless there have been excused absences. Iready will do the assignments according to their current level. They need to pass the assignments to get full credit.
We are studying Poetry and figurative language this week. We started on page 70 in the journal. They should have completed through page 96 by the end of the week. Journal checks will be done on Friday, 2/7. I will give them a list of pages that will be checked and they will be given a classwork grade on those pages.
The End of Unit assessment will be given on Friday. There is nothing to study for the assessment. It is all based on work they have been doing in class.

Monday: Read and discuss "The People Could Fly" Review Vocabulary Words/ Homework for Tuesday is to use each of the ten words in a sentence.
Tuesday: Introduce Frederick Douglass' Narrative and discuss context. Homework: Vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
Wednesday - Friday - We will be working in the journal on the Narrative of Frederick Douglass. Homework will include work we don't finish in class. Students will need to pay close attention at the end of the class time to be sure they have written the homework assignments down.
I will be here Thursday until 3:30 for tutoring in Room f 223.
